Abstract
Vor dem Hintergrund des weltweit steigenden Bedarfs an Wohnraum in Städten soll in Wien innerstädtische Nachverdichtung vermehrt zur Wohnraumschaffung beitragen. Weil dabei auch die Dichte des Zusammenlebens steigt, werden Nachverdichtungen vermehrt sozial-organisatorisch begleitet. Dies ist für die Sozialraumorientierte Soziale Arbeit ein neues Handlungsfeld, in dem auch andere Professionen tätig sind.
Im Beitrag werden die Ergebnisse meiner Masterarbeit Soziale Dimensionen der Wohnraumschaffung (2019) präsentiert. Diese umfasst eine Analyse der Rahmenbedingungen und der institutionellen Struktur dieses Handlungsfelds. Anhand der Analyse der dort tätigen Organisationen und ihrer Arbeitsweisen werden Rückschlüsse auf relevante Kompetenzen und Konzepte gezogen. Diese werden anschließend in Hinblick auf aktuelle und zukünftige Beiträge der Sozialen Arbeit diskutiert. Professionsspezifische Chancen sowie zu bearbeitende Spannungsfelder werden aufgezeigt. Die Untersuchung der Masterarbeit zeigt die steigende Relevanz dieses Handlungsfelds für die Soziale Arbeit in Wien deutlich. Durch die Begleitung von Nachverdichtung kann die Soziale Arbeit verstärkt bestehendes und zukünftiges Zusammenleben in den Blick nehmen und die konstruktive Bearbeitung von Konflikten unterstützen. Der Bedarf bestimmter Zielgruppen für weitere Unterstützung kann erhoben und Empowerment der Betroffenen ermöglicht werden.

Due to recent growth of urban areas around the world cities require more space for housing. In Vienna strategies of inner-city redensification become more relevant to the creation of housing. Since this leads to an increased density of social life too, redensification is often accompanied by professional social-organisational measures. This kind of professional support is a new field of activity for Spatial Social Work, and other professions.
The article presents the results of my master thesis Social Dimensions of Housing Creation (2019). It includes an analysis of the general conditions and the institutional structure of this field of action. Based on the analysis of the organisations working in this field and their working methods, conclusions on relevant competences and concepts are drawn. Afterwards, these will be discussed with regard to current and future contributions of social work. Profession-specific opportunities and areas of tension to be worked on are pointed out. The described findings illustrate the increasing relevance of this field for social work in Vienna. Through accompaniment of redensification, social work can establish a holistic perspective on present and future urban social life and support the constructive handling of conflicts. The needs of specific target groups for further support through social work can be recognised and the empowerment of people affected by redensification can be strengthened.
