Abstract
The following article presents the results of the research project "Use of digital media by small children in everyday family life". Of particular interest for this project was whether children up to the age of six are allowed to use digital media according to their parents, which digital media, for what purpose, and at what times during the day. These questions were attempted to be answered with the help of an exploratory study on whether and which digital media are used in everyday family life by children up to six years of age. According to the study, the majority of children use digital media in everyday family life, especially digital television, radio plays (e.g. Toniebox), and smartphones. Game consoles and laptops, on the other hand, are hardly used by children in this age group.
