Abstract
This article asks which policy goals social worker pass on to parents and what is explicitly and implicitly addressed and recommended in counseling sessions with parents. The production of gender arrangements in the context of counseling settings is focused on two levels: First, between professionals and parents, second, between the counseled parents. The study draws on a heuristic that perceives the effectiveness of political interventions as the result of the interpretation on the part of the service user. The article presents an instrument that enables the interpretation of family policy and reflection of gender and role: the family policy game. As a counseling tool, the game provides guidance for addressing parents in a gender-sensitive manner regarding their division of labour.
