Förderung der HIV-Therapieadhärenz

Abstract

The current paper illustrates how social workers can improve the treatment adherence among their HIV-positive clients. Adherence refers to following a therapy regimen, such as medication intake. The text explores the factors contributing to non-adherence, along with the interventions and implications for clinical social work. Given the lack of German-language research on the topic, the focus is on English-language literature. The analysis reveals that substance abuse, poverty, stigma, and insufficient insurance coverage present notable challenges to adherence. Due to their proximity to the affected clients, social workers are well-positioned to provide appropriate help by employing a lifeworld-oriented approach.
