Zusammenspiel von sozialer Nachhaltigkeit und Klimagerechtigkeit

Abstract

This paper examines the potential of the Social Economy to advance climate justice. Alternative social and economic models, in particular, can provide support and be regarded as means of promoting the social dimension of sustainability.

This article presents practical examples from four selected Social Economy organisations and demonstrates how they contribute to climate justice through the implementation of social sustainability. Furthermore, it identifies the initiatives, networks or models that are employed to facilitate this contribution. The explanations are based on the assumption that a change towards climate justice and sustainability can only be achieved through participation and inclusion. The article aims, on the one hand, to raise awareness of the potential of the Social Economy to effect change and, on the other hand, to show where organisations can begin if they are not yet involved or are not exploiting their potential.
