Feministische Soziale Arbeit im Kontext der Vermeidung von Wohnungslosigkeit

Abstract

This article expounds on the manner in which the Innsbruck-based organization lilawohnt (previously known as DOWAS
für
Frauen
) addresses the issue of homelessness experienced by women*. The contribution provides a thorough survey of lilawohnt’s services, their theoretical underpinnings, and the significance of intersectionality for the organization’s work. The issue of gender equality is a significant concern within the domain of homelessness services, where the gender of service users can impose an additional disadvantage in the quest for the fundamental right to housing. The discussion is accompanied by a historical overview of the development of the organization. Finally, the article traces recent developments within lilawohnt, such as the implementation of the Housing First concept for women* and the involvement of peers*.
