Abstract
Die wachsende Bedeutung und Präsenz des Internets in unserem Alltag führen zur Notwendigkeit, Nachbarschaft und Nachbarschaftsvernetzung nicht nur in der regulären physischen Umwelt zu betrachten, sondern auch im sogenannten virealen Raum (virtuell und real). Dieser noch relativ wenig erforschte Sozialraum ist nicht unwesentlich für die Soziale Arbeit. In diesem Artikel wird ein Teilaspekt des virealen Raums erforscht, um ihn besser verstehen und einordnen zu können. Es werden Plattformen, die der Online-Nachbarschaftsvernetzung in Wien dienen, untersucht, um deren Nutzung und Funktionen aufzuzeigen.

The growing importance and presence of the Internet in our everyday lives lead to the necessity to examine neighborhood and neighborhood networking not only in the physical environment but also in so-called vireal space. This scientifically still relatively unexplored social environment is significant for the domain of Social Work. This article explains the concept of vireal space and explores a partial certain aspect of vireal space to extend the analysis and subsequently stress the concept’s importance. Two platforms that serve online neighborhood networks in Vienna will be explored to gain insight into how precisely these platforms are used and which functions they fulfill.
