Abstract
Der Beitrag beschäftigt sich kritisch mit den Themen Armut, Erziehung und Soziale Arbeit. Leitende These ist, dass Soziale Arbeit zum Teil – entgegen anderslautender Intentionen – Gefahr läuft, von Armut betroffene Adressat*innen zur Armut zu erziehen bzw. unreflektiert bestimmten gesellschaftlichen, lebensweltlichen und fachlichen Ideologien aufzusitzen. Aufgabe einer kritisch-reflexiven Sozialen Arbeit ist es, in Theorie und Praxis darauf zu reflektieren und sowohl politisch, theoretisch als auch praktisch-fachlich dazu in Distanz zu gehen.

The paper focuses the issues of social work, education and poverty and their interrelationships. The thesis is discussed if social work promotes – in part against its intention – education of poor people to their poverty. In some cases, social ideologies and prejudices out of lifeworld are too less reflected in the professional work with poor people. It should be the concern of a critical thinking Social Work to get in distance to these ideologies in theory and in practice of Social Work with people affected by poverty.
