Digital und/oder analog? Zusammenarbeit am Arbeitsplatz im Gesundheits- und Sozialwesen aus der Perspektive von Führungskräften

Abstract

The use of digital media and devices has strongly risen in recent years. Digital media and technologies are influencing the working contexts of social work and health care and supports collaboration at the workplace. This article provides insight into a questionnaire study with 87 executive personnel from the health and social services sector in Austria. It shows that digitalization is part of the organizational strategy in more than half of the organizations. Furthermore, the majority of employees work and is able to work with digital technologies. Interaction in the workplace, such as communication or collaboration, is increasingly supported by digital technologies. While the level of interaction has improved, interruptions are more frequent and accessibility requirements have increased. There is also a general expectation that digitalization will increase whereas the lack of data protection is seen as a risk.
