Abstract
This article presents interdisciplinary approaches to inclusion research in the field of labor. It asks about the potential benefits of digitization for inclusion. In particular, the need for cooperation between technical and social science disciplines will be emphasized. For interdisciplinary research to succeed, a structured approach is required that combines the strengths of all participating disciplines.
The paper presents the results of such a research project as an example. In the study, job requirements were compared with general needs of selected target groups, regardless of the persons performing the work. Based on this, targeted inclusion technologies are proposed and their practical implementation is described. The focus is on the interdisciplinary methodology, which profitably combines occupational therapy activity analyzes with biomechanical stress measurements and social science methods such as focus groups and interviews.
The results are relevant from a sociopolitical and social work perspective: Existing barriers on the labor market are unmasked for different groups of people and replied to on the level of concrete options for action. The analyses also enable positive association possibilities for a broad understanding of the target groups considered.
