Ausgehend von der Entwicklung der Sozialarbeitsausbildung in Österreich und ihrer mittlerweile 20-jährigen Integration in das Fachhochschulsystem geht dieser Beitrag der Frage nach, wie die von der Internationalen Vereinigung für Sozialarbeitsausbildungen festgelegten „Global Standards“ umgesetzt werden und wo Entwicklungsbedarf erkennbar ist. Speziell die Themenfelder Kerncurriculum, Diversität in der Ausbildung, Partizipation der Studierenden, Einbezug von aktuellen sozialen Entwicklungen in die Ausbildung und Service User Involvement werden kritisch beleuchtet und diskutiert.
Abstract
The article explores the development of social work education in Austria and its integration into the university of applied sciences system over the last 20 years. It further examines the implementation of the global standards set forth by the International Association for Social Work Education and pinpoints aspects that require improvement. In this regard, I focus on the critical examination and detailed discussion of the core curriculum, diversity in education, student participation, inclusion of current social developments in education and service user involvement.
